Items Needed for Adults to Take To The DPS

  1. Original Birth Certificate or Passport
  2. Original Social Security Card or a W-2
  3. Picture ID (School ID or Texas ID)
  4. ADE Certificate (This certificate is from driving school)
  5. 2 Proofs of Residency (Examples: Bank Statements, Lease agreements, Utility Statements, Paycheck stubs with your address, Voters Registration Card)
  6. Cost is $43

Items Needed for Teens to Take To The DPS

  1. Original Birth Certificate or Passport
  2. Original Social Security Card or a W-2
  3. Picture ID (School ID or Texas ID)
  4. VOE (Verification of Enrollment) You get the VOE from your school register
  5. DE-964 Certificate(This certificate is from the driving school)
  6. 2 Proofs of Residency (Examples: Banks Statements, Lease agreement, Utility Statements, Paycheck stubs with your address, Voters Registration Card)
  7. Parent Must Go With Minor
  8. Cost is $26

Items Needed for Road Test

  1. ADE Certificate(if Under 25)
  2. Impact Video Certification For Adults(Must Watch)
  3. Learners Permit(With Picture On The Document)

Teens under 18

  1. Driver’s Education Certificate
  2. Unexpired Driving Permit
  3. Unexpired Teen Impact Certificate
  4. 30 Hour Driving Log
  5. Accompanied by Parent or Guardian

Adults 18-24

  1. Adult Driver’s Education Certificate
  2. Unexpired Driving Permit
  3. Unexpired Adult Impact certificate

Adults 25 and older
